Siena Walking Tour

Siena is a lovely city where you can still experience a medieval atmosphere. It was an important trade and market center between the XIII and XIV centuries.

We'll do a pleasant walking tour through the hilly narrow streets of Siena to learn about its history, the historical races, the life of important historical figures like saint Catherine of Siena an Italian patron Saint, and of course, we'll discover (and taste) the typical food of Siena, such as the famous Ricciarelli biscuits.

We'll see also the two main squares of the city: Piazza del Campo and the Piazza del Duomo.

Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful political piazzas of Italy thanks to its unique shell shape, is important because the famous Palio is played there but that’s not the only reason!
After that, we'll move to the Piazza del Duomo, one of the finest examples of the Tuscan Gothic style. Many important artists from Donatello to Michelangelo to Bernini worked on the Duomo in order to embellish it.

But the Cathedral of Siena is remarkable especially for its fantastic mosaic floor, which is famous and renowned for its beauty all over the world.
After the visit of the city we'll have lunch in Siena and after lunch we'll move to a winery to enjoy a wonderful wine tasting, learning all about Chianti and Super Tuscan wines but also extra virgin olive oil.

San Gimignano Walking Tour

After the wine tasting, we'll go to see the small town of San Gimignano, which is located at the top of a hill, midway between Siena and Florence. In its charming medieval center, you can admire the typical towers that used to be in the main cities and towns in Tuscany.

San Gimignano has a little center with many beautiful shops that sell typical Tuscan products such as leather, ceramics, cheese, wine and gelato!!! We can end our San Gimignano Walking Tour with a tasting of a white wine produced just here: the Vernaccia wine! What a perfect way to relax even more on the way back to Florence!
